Stagnation is a protracted period of no (or very little) growth in an economy. Economic growth of less than 1% to 2% annually is considered stagnation. High unemployment and involuntary part-time employment often feature during stagnations. Stagnation can also occur on a smaller scale in specific industries or companies or with wages.
